What this page is for

If you are leaving the club, this is how you tell it formally. You submit a request, an administrator processes it, and your membership is closed. Submitting the request does not end your membership on the spot. It is a request. Until an administrator processes it you are still a member, and you can withdraw it.

Before you can submit

The page checks a few things first and tells you if any of them stand in your way. An outstanding balance is the one that stops you. The club cannot close an account that owes money, so the form does not appear until the balance is clear. If you think the balance is wrong, contact the club rather than the form.

If you hold a KCRQ airport badge

If the club has issued you an airport badge, a prominent notice appears on this page. You must return it. County-issued security badges and access materials have to be handed back under TSA rules — this is not a club preference. The return address is shown on the page. The club also notifies the county that your badge should be closed out when your membership ends. That happens automatically; you do not need to arrange it. Returning the physical badge is your part. Keys can be left at Western Flight at Palomar Airport, marked for Pacific Coast Flyers, if that is easier than posting them.

Submitting the request

  1. Check the contact details, which are filled in from your club record. The club uses these to reach you after your membership ends, so make sure they are ones that will still work.
  2. Complete the form.
  3. Submit.
You land on a confirmation screen, and you receive an email confirming the request was received. If that email does not arrive, check spam before assuming the request failed — the confirmation screen is the reliable signal.

Changing your mind

While your request is still pending, the page shows a Retract My Retirement Request button. Open it and confirm with Yes, Retract My Request and the request is cancelled. Your membership is untouched — retracting does not leave a mark on your record. Once an administrator has processed the request, you cannot retract it. At that point your membership has ended and coming back means applying again.

What happens after it is processed

  • You receive an email confirming your membership has been retired.
  • Your access changes at your next sign-in. Member tools close; you can still sign in and read public pages. See If you are a retired member.
  • Any credit on your account is handled by the club — this is why a credit is flagged before you submit.
You can be retired without ever using this page. If the club ends a membership at its end — for non-payment, or by request made another way — the result is the same and you receive the same kind of notification. This page is the self-service route, not the only one.

Troubleshooting

The form does not appear and it mentions a balance. Settle the balance in the club’s operations system. If you believe it is wrong, contact the club. You already submitted and want to check on it. Return to this page. A pending request is shown, with the retract option. You retracted by mistake. Submit a new request. Retracting does not block you from applying again. You want to pause rather than leave. Retiring is not a pause — coming back means a new application. If a break is what you want, talk to the club before submitting anything. Your membership was retired and you did not ask for it. Contact the club. Memberships are also ended for non-payment and other reasons, and an administrator can tell you which applied.
