# Instructors

> Browse the club's authorized instructors, filter by aircraft rating or checkout, and find how to contact one directly.

<Info>
  **Where to find it:** Instructors · [www.pcflyers.org/instructors](https://www.pcflyers.org/instructors)

  **Who can use it:** Anyone. No login required.

## What this page is for

The **PCF Authorized Instructors** page lists the instructors approved to teach in club aircraft,
what each one is rated to teach, what they charge, and how to reach them. It is public, so you can
look before you join.

**Instructors are booked and paid through the club's operations system, not through this page.**
This page is how you find the right instructor and get in touch.

## What you see

A grid of instructor cards, with a toolbar above them.

| Control                  | What it does                                             |
| ------------------------ | -------------------------------------------------------- |
| **All Aircraft Ratings** | Narrows to instructors rated in one aircraft type |
| **All Checkouts** | Narrows to instructors who can give one kind of checkout |
| **Grid** / **List** | Switches between picture cards and a compact list |

Both filters work instantly without reloading. A **Clear** button appears once a filter is set, and
if nothing matches, the page offers **Clear filters**.

<Note>
  **The order changes every time you load the page, and that is deliberate.** Instructors with a
  photograph come first, then those without — but within each group the order is shuffled on every
  visit so that nobody is permanently at the top. If you are signed in and you are an instructor,
  your own entry is shown first so you can check how you look to members.
</Note>

## Opening an instructor

Click any instructor to open their page, which shows:

* **Their name and certification class** — CFI, CFII, and so on. See the
  [glossary](/start/glossary).
* **Their photograph**, if they have uploaded one.
* **About** — a short biography in their own words.
* **Aircraft Ratings** — the types they are approved to instruct in.
* **Checkouts** — the club checkouts they can give.
* **Instruction Rate** — their hourly rate.
* **Contact** — their phone numbers and email.

There is a **View Fleet** link on every instructor page, and a **Back to Instructors** link to
return to the list.

## Contacting an instructor

**Contact them directly.** Each instructor's page lists the phone numbers and email addresses they
have chosen to publish. On a phone, tapping a number dials it and tapping an email address opens
your mail app.

The club does not schedule instruction on your behalf, and there is no "request a lesson" button
here. Ring or email the instructor you want to fly with and arrange it between you.

If you are new and do not know who to approach, use the **Checkouts** filter to find instructors
who give the checkout you need, or
[ask the club](/start/getting-help) for a recommendation.

## Which instructors appear here

An instructor is listed when their club record is active and set to be shown publicly. They are
left out when their record is suspended, hidden, or not marked for public display — so an
instructor missing from this page is not necessarily unavailable, only not listed.

**Instructors: if you are missing from this page**, the switch is in your club record rather than
on the website. See your own CFI tools, or
[contact the club](/start/getting-help).

## The Featured Instructor card

Elsewhere on the site you may see a single instructor highlighted in a card. It is chosen at random
from instructors who have both a photograph and a published rate, and it changes as you move around
the site. Clicking it opens that instructor's page. It is not a ranking.

## Troubleshooting

**An instructor's details are out of date.**
Ratings, checkouts, rates and contact details come from the club's operations system. The
instructor's photograph and biography are theirs to change on the website. Anything else has to be
corrected by the club.

**You cannot find an instructor you have flown with before.**
Clear any filters first — it is easy to leave one set. If they are genuinely absent, their record
may not be set for public display. [Contact the club](/start/getting-help).

**No phone number or email is shown.**
Instructors publish the contact details they choose to. If none are shown, reach them through the
club.
